Rome.
wait a minute.
I'm still trying to figure out if you're on my side or not.

Perhaps my sarcasm doesn't translate well. Don't take my words literally.
Let me explain: I don't really think that people are trying to literally "change GW into NWN." I made, what is called, a "hyperbolic statement" to illustrate the fact that these ideas aren't very original.

The point I was making was that we don't need to see GW with classes that exist just because NWN has them. I give credit to ANet for being true to its own original vision rather than developing classes that have already been covered by NWN.

rogue? bard? martial-artist (NWN monk)? shape-shifter (NWN druid)? - all of them are NWN. In other threads people even suggest Paladins...

And, you're right, I am making fun of many of these ideas. How many times do we have to read another "idea" about a "ninja" class? (use the search feature and see for yourself).

At least I hope you recognize that I don't degenerate into complete flaming or obscenity. If anything, I'm hoping someone has enough sense to notice that, for the most part, I'm not making personal remarks or insults. I comment on the "idea" rather than the "person."

But if I hurt your feelings back there .... I'm sorry ....

(but I don't take back my threat to pull Unyieding Aura from any bard (if one were to come skipping along my path in the expansion))

Hmm. It's hard to say because they've conevered a large spectrum of possible classes. If anything, maybe an assassin specialising in speed and I hate to be unoriginal, but similar to the one in D2. Other than that, perhaps non human forms would be good.

I have no specific requests for character classes - The only thing I want is for ANet to make classes that are original and creative - preferably NOT something we've seen in a dozen other games before.

I trust that ANet has enough creative force so that new professions will amplify the existing content by adding new dimension.... instead of just dumping on more features, skills and classes that really don't affect gameplay at all.

I have faith that ANet will deliver the goods.

I'd like to see a class that can spike damage when coordinated, drop traps that when prepared en masse can almost instantly kill an enemy character, can heal allies for about half their max health, if left unchecked can permanently keep an enemy Ghostly Hero from capturing an altar, can knock down enemies without suffering exhaustion or dramatic energy loss, and can do all this while having very little to no energy problems, without spreading any points into a secondary class.

...oh wait, we got those already.

Bard
------
Harmony - Primary skill, for each point in this attrbute, the duration of your spells last 1% longer. (hexes, enchants, etc)

Motherfing Rapping
Pop star omg
Too loud rock
Nobody Likes Classical

1. microphone
2. recordings
3. guitar
4. violin/viola/flute/trumpet

Skills may include:

Its easier than it seems - your suddenly in a music videos where you are by a pool with all these women and other rappers of your choice - attr: mfing rap

Lipsynch - for 5 seconds, you steal one random spell of an enemy and the stats for it are exactly like the stats as if you had points in those attr. - attr: pop star omg

Screamo - A constant bubble on top of your head yells out many incoherent lyrics, growing in size for 10 seconds - attr: too loud rock

--------------

Seriously though, the only things that sound interesting/serious in that is Harmony (I think its a nice primary attr.) and the ability to "lipsynch" as a real skill...

every class has a counter-class (e.g. monk vs. necro)

if there's a bard we'll just have to introduce .... the mime!

Mime has natual resistance to many bard curses (since he's probably stone-deaf from what I can tell) - and has his/her signature brand of STFU hexes.

I can see it now:

"7/8 team for Thunderhead Keep mission - looking for mime."

Yeah, because you'd need one to counter all those Stone Summit punk rockers.

How about a true Wizard? (the Will and the Word). The spells they collect are simple words which they can upgrade with other word spells. Eg.. Fire can be up graded with Undead or Charr to get Undead Fire (Damage against Undead) and... Well... you get my point

My guess would be some kind of thrown weapon character and maybe an unarmed type of character, the typical martial artist type. I am fairly sure they will have some caster class but no idea with what.

You do realize the Neverwinter was not the first or even the last to have these professions, right? Almost everything a RPG or MMORPG does nowadays will be considered a ripoff or cliche.

Martial Artist - Look at the entire Final Fantasy series, look at Lineage 2, look at Ragnarok Online, look at Vagrant Story, Valkyrie Profile, Seiken Densetsu 3, Xenogears, Dragon Warrior, hell, look at most offline RPGs,

Rogue - ... You are just stupid if you are claiming that this belongs to NWN... I mean, REALLY retarded... Almost every RPG and MMORPG has one...

Bard - Again, quite common.
Shapeshifter - Diablo, Seiken Densetsu, Everquest also has this too, I believe.

Paladin - Final Fantasy series, and again, almost every MMORPG.

My point is, you might think NWN is godly and started all of these professions and any other game that has these professions included in them is a ripoff, but the fact of the matter is you haven't suggested any likely or realistic new professions. All you do is try to insult other's ideas in hopes of showing off your e-penis. Congrats, you can mock other's ideas on an online message board. Your soooo funny.

There's already 4 caster classes, another one would be fun to play with, but I think what GW needs is attack damage diversity. There's swords (in pve at least), axes, hammers, and bows. I'd count wands, but who seriously uses a wand as primary damage?

thats the thing. with the two class system you can basically emulate most common classes.

Rogues/Assassins/Ninjas:

rely on stealth. can't see how this would work in GW. major changes to engine would be needed.

Sneak attacks and such. you can already inflict extra dmg by attacking from behind. shields and protective icons only provide frontal armor (methinks).

stealing. i've heard this suggested. insanity in my opinion. anyone with half a brain can see the problem with this. this makes them the uber farming class.

personally i think that another melee class is needed. special attribute causes an increased attack speed?
also another heal capable character is needed.

If people don't want to play healers, they won't play them anyway, adding new healing class won't change that. Not everyone likes watching red bars all the time, it's simple.

another heal capable class is more to increase variety in teams. not to increase the number of healers around.
another class with different heal spells would increase the strategy involved while healing. this i think would be positive.

Maybe - than again, unless number of healers change, you will have half of monks and half of new class(let's just assume they will be equally "popular"), meaning it would get twice as hard to find monk in the first place.

lol. i have never been seen on these boards complaining about monk scarcity. i occasionally join in the threads about monk attitude problems. a new healing class would go some way to help resolve this situation. there are enough healers out there. just not enough variation in them. the lack of variation and choice makes some healers a wee bitty full of themselves.

NWN is based on DnD.

DnD was the first game to give bosses a job.

GG.
